Productive Italian heirloom Circa 1890's with 3-4 inch blue green heads, great for both spring and fall, Produces a 3-6 in. diameter central head and side sprouts which extend the harvest period. Use the young leaves like collard greens once the head is a quarter developed. Plants are light green and of medium height. May be planted in the early spring, late summer, or early fall.
Can be started indoors very early in the season if desired in a well light area about 8 weeks outdoors, but doesn't have to be,this means it can be direct sown ln the spring summer or fall 1/4 inch deep into individual containers or direct into the garden, keep seedlings moist and seedlings will emerge in 10-21 days depending on soil temps, etc. Before transplanting move to a sheltered area outside for a week before transplanting into big pots or into the garden bed. Quickly matures in as little as 48 to 50 days. space them 16 inches apart per plant in full sun for 6 plus hours a day. Cert USDA Organic Certified seeds!
