The listing, HP Tablet AS-IS!!! Bought it for 1200$!!! has ended.

This is an HP tx1000 tablet. It charges,and some lights come on, but doesn't turn on!

It is touchscreen. It needs a stylus, but I don't have it anymore.

A computer guy said it had a video problem. According to Google, its a common problem and it can be fixed WITH THE RIGHT KNOW-HOW.

Sorry to yell in caps, but I would feel bad if someone got this and turned it into an expensive paperweight.

The only part I can guarantee is in there is a battery. The RAM and Hard Drive were transferred to another laptop by a professional.

To sum that up,I can only guarantee you'll get a laptop and a Battery. I won't guarantee it can be fixed because I have no idea.

Ask questions because I don't want negative feedback, but please realize I'm in college and might not reply immediately.

when i saw "AS-IS" in the desc. it said to me 'hey, something is out of place with this" so he kinda did say its "broken"

if it had an hdd atleast id be mroe tempted, F&W tho see where it is near the end.. good luck

Now its going to come with 1gb ram, but I can't guarantee the condition of the ram, it was from a friend's old laptop. There's no way I can give away a hard drive. Its not easy to fully wipe a hard drive.

The repair is between $65 & $85 through ebay. Memory & another hard drive would set you back another $150 to whatever you want to spend. Repairs and all You could still end up with a REALLY nice laptop/tablet PC for under $300. Then you could do the upcoming Windows 8 upgrade ($40) and, well, it could rock.
I have a similar setup, a fujitsu lifebook, and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'm not sure about that. The charger I used in those pictures is a IGo charger. It cost an arm and a leg so I really don't want to give it up unless the credits go really high or if you REALLY don't think you can find another charger since the real charger is pretty common.

The repair is available on ebay. It is a common problem on the hp's laptops about that time.
The heat from the video chip eventually breaks down the solder to the motherboard. The repair is basically removing the chip, putting in a better heat sink and then resoldering it, which isn't exactly as easy of a task as it sounds.

There are some that cut corners and just "Reball" the chip without putting in a new heat sink, which CAN get it to work but the repair will eventually break down again.

Im not sure how much it will cost yet, but remember that a laptop battery is a little heavy.
A flat rate should cost between 10 and 15, but I'll try to find the cheapest way to send it to the winner
