This is an adorable book. Grover is in school and he learns to read but he doesn't want his mother to know he can read, because he is afraid she won't read him his bedtime story to him anymore or kiss him goodnight and tuck him in, if she knows he can read. On his way home from school he sees his friends baby sister and she is crying. He wants to help her to stop crying and after trying several things, he pulls his book out of his bag and starts reading to her. She crawls into his lap and stops crying, so she can hear him read. He is so proud that he runs home to his mother and tells her that he help the baby stop crying by reading to her, completely forgetting his not wanting to let his mother know he can read. Got to get the book to find out how this turns out. It is a book that is as good as new, nice and clean from a non-smoking home!
