when you bid you are setting a cap ceiling how much you will pay. if someone else's ceiling is higher the bit will be set to one higher than yours. I usually overcome it by whats called overbidding. I make a bid for the absolute highest I'll pay. most if the time I usually get it for less than what I bid. hope this helps.
