Description

The listing, Vintage Kodak Trimprint 940 Instant Film Camera has ended.

Ok.....the mass sell-off of my world famous camera collection continues. Next up is:

Vintage Kodak TRIMPRINT 940 Instant Film Camera.
Comes with the ORIGINAL manual.

This operated just like a Polaroid....in that you got your printed picture right there on the spot.

Now....here's the story (shortened). Kodak wanted to get into the Instant Film market to compete with Polaroid. Uh Oh...Polaroid's got a serious case of the red butt (I can't say red a**, because Listia would have a case of the red butt at ME). Polaroid hired 84,000 lawyers and sued the daylights out of Kodak. Kodak ran for the hills like a wounded banshee rooster. Naturally, Polaroid won the case. Kodak was ordered to buy back all the Instant Cameras they had sold, or, give the consumer credit towards a new Kodak camera of a different type. They had to pull all of these off the shelves. Kodak took a MAJOR hit on this!

Here's the part you should pay close attention to. The VAST majority of these Kodak Instant Cameras are permanant residents at local dumps across the country. There just aren't that many still around. People threw them away right & left...because....you CANNOT get film for them. It doesn't exist. Polaroid film will not work in these.

Why am I bothering to tell you this? HANG ONTO THESE! We're talking EXTREME collector's items.
I've had these (I have 5 different models) for about 30 years. You hang onto it for another 20-30 years and you've got a little goldmine.

Nice condition for it's age. No bad damage!

Yes, it takes batteries, but why mention it when you'll never be taking any pictures with it.

I would say the chances of you finding any useable film would be nil and none. The key word there being USEABLE. If you did happen to stumble across a pack of film for it, like on ebay and such....the expiry date would be 25-30 years old. When Kodak stopped making the camera, naturally they stopped making the film for it. However, it would be great for a class to study it, research it, and be amazed how it used to work. You RARELY find these anywhere! I used to be constantly on the hunt for cameras....yard sales, auctions, estate sales, thrift stores, etc., and I would MAYBE see one every 2-3 years. And, most of those would be beatup and falling apart. So....I would have honestly say...it's HIGHLY unlikely you would find film for it. As the old saying goes....it's as scarce as hen's teeth.

Since you probably never heard that term before...chicken have no teeth. ;0)
