i really need this lamp i broke one like this at my dads house and it was giving to him by a family member who is no longer here...i really hope i get it
I would suggest UPS as a safer method for shipping something this size - it automatically INCLUDES insurance (up to $100 worth) at no extra charge. The Post Office charges for all insurance.
Take it from a former postal employee - marking the package "FRAGILE" doesn't REALLY keep it from being handled any differently. All packages get thrown into big sacks during the sorting process. A 'fragile' item must be packed in such a way that it can withstand something heavier landing on top of it. And once something is inside a sack, you can't see that it says anything on it. Then the sacks are pulled down off the sorting racks and tossed into bins......If you pack it as if is going to be handled by gorillas playing catch, you will probably be OK. LOL!
