This is a mint Zircon Stud Sensor. I tried it once and I could get it to work very well for detecting studs. Maybe I was using it wrong. It certainly powers up. This item has abysmal reviews on Amazon so maybe I'm not alone. I would see this more as a toy or a challenge :-).
