CHICKEN AND DUMPLIN'S
1 Fryer Chicken cut in pieces and boiled...DO NOT THROW AWAY BROTH.
De-bone when cool enough and set aside.
Put 3 cups broth in freezer to cool it completely down below warm to use for liquid for dumplings.
In a large bowl.......mix 3 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking powder.............
Add cooled broth a little at a time until dough is easy to handle...not sticky.
BRING broth back to a boil....add more water and lots of butter if you like it rich...
Split dough in 3 pieces for easy rolling.
Flour your board or counter. Roll dough out thin...I like 1/4 inch thick...but thicker is ok if you want thick dumplings.
Cut in strips and then shorter strips
Drop into boiling water and boil for a few minutes..then lower heat to medium and let cook until dumplings are tender...about 20 minutes. (depends on how well you want them done)
Add de-boned chicken to dumplings when almost done.
Add salt and pepper to taste and of course more butter . lol
