The listing, 2004 D - 10 mg of 24 karat gold plated Quarter has ended.

NOTE: The United States Government NEVER minted gold quarters. This coin is still legal tender at face value. Since this is a modified coin, the value is questionable.

The amount of collectability for any altered or plated coin is negotiable only to a buyer looking for it. Most coin collectors are purists and will pay more than face value for the common copper-nickel version with no wear or scratches.

I have only seen non-collectors buy these plated coins and other people pick them up for the novelty of them.
