The listing, WHITE blackberry seed wild harvested rare has ended.
While foraging this past year my friend and I came upon a small area of white blackberries. We had never seen anything like them before and were amazed to find these vines in our picking territory. After some research, we discovered they are in fact white blackberries and very rare. The seed I am auctioning came from the few berries we gleamed that day and our supply is very limited. We ate half our findings that day, amazed that they were indeed blackberries, and the taste was delightful. We have identified several vines of these and plan to try to transplant one or two next year but we are not gardeners, just harvesters, so not sure how our luck would run with seed. I did meet an oldtimer who told me of a couple vines he had as a child and that his mother made jelly with them, and it was a clear jelly yet tasted like rich blackberry. We didn't pick all the berries this year, hoping to save enough to make a batch of jelly, but it was a long hike, we are getting old and didn't manage to get back in time before the critters found them.
