The listing, Pink Sweet Pea Seed (Heirloom) has ended.
The winner of this auction will receive 1 whole seed pod from an heirloom sweet pea plant that produces flowers that start out a bright pink and then slowly fade to almost white with a greenish tinge as they age.
I recently managed to collect a few of these seed pods while visiting a local flea market and would like to share my good fortune, so the winner will receive one of the pods shown in the main picture. The open pod contains exactly 10 seeds and I suppose the other pod will, too; at any rate, they reseed themselves very well once established for a season and you'll soon find yourself elbow deep in some of the prettiest flowers around!
The second and third pictures are of the same stem of flowers taken about a week apart...the single short stem lasted me about a week and a half as a cut flower and it didn't start fading until a day or two before all the flowers wilted away completely.
The time to sow them is NOW...before the weather turns too cold and freezes. I'm sowing my batch of these same seeds today, in fact...:).
