Originating in Southern Mexico and Central America, these gigantic, fragrant fruits have me spellbound, so I'm out to find them. What initially caught my attention was the fact that the massive, tree-like Mexican papaya is really a member of the Caricaceae family of plants. The unusual preparation method and several health advantages of these tropical fruits piqued my interest.
