Collard Seed Planting Information:
Collard seeds are usually planted directly in the garden, but can be planted indoors and transplanted outdoors. If growing indoors, plant seeds 5 to 7 weeks before setting outdoors. If sowing seeds directly in the garden, plant seeds in the spring 30 days before last frost, and in the fall 90 days before first autumn frost. Plants can grow 24 - 36" tall.

Soil Requirements:
Requires fertile sandy soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply much and grass clippings, or straw around base of plant.

Water Requirements:
Keep seedlings and transplants consistently moist. Water well during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:
Use RootBlast, Vegetable Alive, and Slow Release Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro every two weeks.

Harvest Tips:
You can cut leaves as you need them if you want the plant to produce more leaves, or you can cut the entire plant at ground level.

Fahrenheit.

Days to Germination: 7 to 14 days
