The listing, Small antique box has ended.

has a photo of "Mademo Iselle Romaine Lacaux" (1841-1919)
very good condition, red velvet interior and on sides in scrollwork, small plaque was removed from bottom of lid, easily remove the glue which held it if done properly.
Lid has beautiful scrollwork in gold on the bottom as well

This looks very much like a rosary box I have which belonged to my great-grandmother. I suspect that was it's original purpose. Mine has a picture of the Mother and Child on the top of it.
