Description

The listing, Heirloom Herb ✽ GARLIC CHIVES ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

These are seeds from my beautiful & delicious GARLIC CHIVES, Allium tuberosum. This perennial grows well in full sun to part sun. Use as an herb in any recipe chives or onions are needed, plant to attract butterflies & bees, or save seeds for next season. I get more complements on the beauty of this plant mixed in my flower bed. I only water my seedlings, as they tend to be very drought tolerant. They reproduce well, giving you years of enjoyment. They are very hardy and very little care is needed. I believe the "strong shall survive" in my garden. You will appreciate my motto!

Hardiness:
USDA Zone 4a: to -34.4 °C (-30 °F)
to USDA Zone 8b: to -9.4 °C (15 °F)

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my
garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I will need a phone number if sending International. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring of 2012. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 3-5 seeds per pot. About 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny location.

I am flexible. I need to be in compliance with our post office though. All standard envelopes go through a machine now. I can usually get away with 1 little packet of seeds if I tape it to a napkin and send it with a stamp. If there are more packets of seeds, they have to be sent 1st class package with an actual label and not stamps. That costs me $1.75 to ship. I think 10 packets can be combined in the package without any additional charge. I just don't know how to post that on here. The SASE would be fine for 1 packet, Yes.
