Up for auction is a neat old trade card / postcard, advertising the services of Livermore & Knight Co., 42 Pine Street, Providence, R. I. (head office and factory). This company was renowned for its innovative and creative advertising, which they featured on a novelty card that swiveled, pulled out or turned, to call attention to the product and / or business featured

Card measures approximately 4¼” x 6¾”. It is No. 290 Old Well. Made of a heavy-duty paperboard. Undivided back.

There is some minor damage to the bottom right corner of the well (which is a separate piece attached to the main card, but the rest of the card is pretty nice! Card features a folded paper, which is attached to the well by a cord. You pull up the paper, and read the message – which would be the advertising for your business in wording of your choice.

The text on the pull-out paper is reasons why this postcard will sell the sender's first-class goods. Since the paper was attached to the card by string, it was hard to get a good scan, but I think you can get the idea.
