FYI... Silver Certificates have a Blue Seal (most of the time) and the wording Silver Certificate above the presidential portrait.

Your bill is a 'United States Note' and obviously has a red seal ...

Still very collectible but not a Silver Certificate...

My bad . You are absolutely right . I was going thru some old bills and had pulled out a bunch to put on Listia and I thought they all said Silver certificate but the Two dollar bills do not . Thanks for noticing that . I agree it's still a nice bill and very collectible.

i have a red seal $2 bill in great condition a well. mine is a 1953 as well. I cannot give mine away for free...but I am willing to sell it if anyone is interested....
