When I got in my car accident last year, both my boyfriend and best friend jennifer took care of me. It was a really bad car accident and they both took care of my kids while I was in the hospital. They took them trick or treating, made sure my babies were in school and tucked in at night before bed. Please add something for James and Jen, if thats not being greedy. Please and thank you :)

Please add a gift for a stranger that I never knew. He was at my brother's funeral and when I passed the casket crying, he reached out and held me and consoled me. I don't know his name...but I never will forget him..

I actually have a few people to honor. My mom and dad, mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Between all of them they helped me out with my kids and transportation back and forth to the hospital when my husband was in the hospital with a heart attack last year. I am very greatful for what they have done for us. I dont think I could of done it by myself it was very hard. Love them all. Great auction Fanned and watching please fan me back.

My husband is who I want to honor. He is a welder and works in teeny tiny awkward spaces in tons of smoke all day. I am a stay at home mom and we have 3 boys (9, 6 & 3) so even though he makes enough money to pay our bills its still tough. He is always doing his best to give special treats to the kids and to me, but never for himself. Last year he bought himself a new rifle, and I can honestly say in almost 13 years that is the first big item he bought for himself he didn't need. He works his butt off so we can live and puts himself last everyday. I just want him and everybody else to know how thankful and blessed I am to have him as my own! <3

Cont... story.. stupid 2000 character rule lol

An emergency CT scan was done which showed there was fluid in the abdomen. At 330am my husband had an emergency surgery done. It turned out that during that first surgery the surgeon not only nicked the large bowel so my husband was leaking bowel into his abdomen which was slowly poisoning him, but the surgeon did not cauterize the artery from the removed appendix well enough and the artery burst causing internal bleeding. And because of the nicked bowel a section of large bowel had to be cut out and resectioned to the small bowel. My husband was at the hospital for a total of 9 days, now has a 7 inch scar down his belly and had to miss two months of work to recover. The surgeon as well as a couple other doctors told us that he was lucky to be alive.

I am a stay at home mom with our two little ones, my husband just started a job so he didn’t have the time to cover his time out of work, although we were lucky enough that they let him keep his job. During this time of two months my sister in law paid our rent, my brother in law paid our other bills. My in laws paid for any food and gas we needed, as well as my mother in law driving down from Vegas at 2am the night of the second surgery to help me with our kids. My parents paid for additional school clothes and supplies.

So I am showing honor to my husband for being such a fighter for his family, my in laws for doing more for me than I could have ever imagined and for my family for always being there for me when I need them. It is true, you never know how quickly someone might be taken from you, and in my case I got lucky.

Great idea for an auction! Now here is my really long story of honoring my family.

On August 6th of this year my husband came home from work after only being there couple hours complaining of severe stomach pain. I took him to the ER at 6pm, and finally around 11pm the CT scan showed he had appendicitis. He was scheduled for surgery to get his appendix removed at 3am. Unfortunately I was unable to stay with him since our little ones just started kindergarten and 1st grade that say day. Luckily my sister in law lives with us to watch my kids while I was at the hospital for as long as I was. I took the kids to school the next morning and rushed back to the hospital with no idea of how my husband was doing or where he even was. I was able to find him in a regular recovery room after 30 minutes of panic at the reception desk.

He was looking good and feeling great. The doctor said that everything was normal but that they were going to keep him overnight. I stayed with him all day until our kids got out of school, in which I picked them up, took them home and fed them dinner and waited for my sister in law to get home from work so I could go and check on my husband again, who had a friend visiting when I got there at 645pm. The doctor told us that walking would help with any gas pressure from surgery so that is what we did, at around 730pm I took him for a walk and about 15 feet from his room he almost collapsed to the ground holding his side and screaming in pain. After 5 hours of screaming in pain and the nurses not listening, I put my foot down. At the same time, my husband’s vitals dropped.

What a wonderful idea! I've got a story to add:

A couple of years ago, my car died, and I was in a panic, with 2 teenage kids, no job, and no savings. I was telling my friend, April, about the situation, and just broke down. (I should add that April and I have never met face to face, but met online many years ago, and have been best friends ever since, even at a distance!) I also explained my dilemma to my ex-husband, Mark, with whom I remain friends. (I bet he wished he hadn't asked how things were going!) Between the two of them, they sent me enough money to buy a decent used car!

Neither of them would even let me talk about repaying them. It wasn't a loan, I was told, it was a gift for someone they knew, without a doubt, would do the same for them if circumstances were different.

Please honor April and Mark for me, for their kindness and generosity. Thank you, and best of luck with your auction! =)

When I was on maternity leave over the summer, my brother paid my phone bill so that we wouldn't be incommunicado with the rest of the family if anything happened.
