This auction if for a TYCOON'S GLOBE replicating knowledge of geography in the 15th Century.

I have owned and thoroughly enjoyed having this globe for more than 30 years.

This type of globe is known as the tycoon's globe as almost all the rich tycoons around the world have globes of this type on their tables. This glove was made in Italy. It is mostly made of light-weight wood The top of the pedestal is approx. 5 inches in diameter, 4¼ inches in height. The globe itself is 3 inches in diameter. The globe holder, passing through the poles, is approx. 4 inches in diameter. Assembled, the globe and pedestal stand approx. 7 inches in height.

Shipping wt.: 13 oz. - - Light enough this will be shipped via First-Class Pkg mail.

Please put a watch on it to help me get a badge, whether or not you are going to bid.
Thanks in advance for the favour.

yes. it was a gift from my father-in-law. i was in the navy at the time and for some reason he thought it would be a neat gift for a sailor. and it was a neat gift. only it was in storage for the first three years because this is not the kind of thing a sailor wants or needs to try to care for while serving at sea. but when my next orders were to work at a hospital, this looked excellent - - and very neat - - on my desk.
