this one takes chain stitches and single crochets. The thumb is added on after the main glove is made. Main glove has about 40 rows total because of the sideways nature. It is made with worsted weight, but you could easily use two baby yarns or 3 fingering weight yarns of different colors to get a mottled effect. I believe even a beginner would be able to do this pattern.
