The listing, Heirloom Fruit ✽ PINEAPPLE TOMATILLO ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.
This plant produces good yields of tomatillos. It has a fruity taste that is similar to that of pineapple or blueberry, and excellent for making fruit salsa or a unique jam. The small, cherry size fruit turn from green to yellow/coral when mature. They are surrounded by a papery husk that turns from green to brown as they ripen and splits open when they are ready to harvest. They are even better when they drop from the plant. Very easy to grow and fun for kids. They ripen at about the same time as tomatoes, and will continue until a hard frost. These are short plants, but wide. You can plant close together in a row, but leave 2 feet next to row to wander through.

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
