I was just wondering if someone buys something and they don't want it for whatever reason. Is it against Listia rules that they can't sell or get rid of it? Was there more to this story? why did she get kicked off ? I just don't know what to look out for, I don't want to be scammed. I'm a trusting person. Thank you for your comments.

Yes, it is quite a long story but I will try to be as precise as possible. If you buy something on Listia and do not like it, then you have every right to re-sell it. However in this case, the first time I listed this handbag the buyer (the one who was kicked off) had sold enough items to get their Trusted Seller's badge, then one day listed many hundreds of dollars of items that she did not have and did not intend to deliver. All of these auctions ended the same day and since she was a trusted seller, she got the points immediately. One of the items she purchased with bids that had been transferred to her was this handbag. By the time the complaints and disputes started coming in, she had already spent credits and received items she bought with credits that really did not belong to her. She was actually brazen enough to try to do it again and that is when Listia canceled all of her auctions and kicked her off. I saw the purse under her name nickname on eBay, got lucky and bought it back from her (for what I am sure is less than she hoped for) and now I am offering it again.

I definitely understand what you are saying, Trish, and it truly pained me to give her money for an item she obtained fraudulently.

However, something told me it was meant to be and she (almost) got what she deserved.
Not that she deserved one dime, but I purchased it VERY cheaply! I am sure she was expecting to get a lot of money for it and she did not set an eBay reserve price so I was able to get it back for almost nothing and offer it again to the Listians who were interested in it the first time.

I believe that many times, God works in mysterious ways.

Also, many of the seller's I work with on Listia know that the majority of items I sell are to get credits to purchase items for residents in a shelter for battered women and children.
I definitely need more credits to buy items for the holiday season and it was less expensive to buy the purse back cheaply from her than it would have been to go to the Coach store and buy another brand new one.

There are so many wonderful people on Listia, but just like anywhere else, it pays to be cautious.
