The listing, 1945 gas rations has ended.
old stamps and a 1945 grocery ration book along with a government issued gas voucher with numbers on it. do not know what it is worh but i am ure it is worth something
Pictures would help if you could make them, but, if the item has the words; "War Ration Book", "United States of America Office of Price Administration", "OPA", "United States Employment Service", "War Manpower Commission"(or similar wording), the EXACT wording would help to describe the items. (Wording like that is on the genuine items and are not confused with trading stamps and the like.) Also, most all of these publications were printed by the "U.S. Government Printing Office" and they put identification code numbers in small print at the edges of the forms (somewhere on each piece) to show/trace the date of publication, as an example a "War Ration Book No.3" may have the numbers "OPA Form No. R-130" and "16-322299-1 * U. S. Government Printing Office : 1943". Other versions and later revisions would have different numbers and/or dates. All very interesting to a history buff, like me!
Aside from being the "genuine article", the condition of the item makes a real difference and would change its worth to collectors. These paper items were meant to be used up and were not manufactured to last very long - so it is unusual to find them in unused, "brand new" condition. A good photo of the actual item, makes it easier for a bidder to tell what condition your item is in. Unfortunately, once there is a bid on your item you can't edit the auction, so you have to put that kind of information in beforehand. BUT, you could write a "Comment" here, even now, which would add more information for bidders about this auction. Good Luck!
