A rookie in 1984 with St. Louis, Pendleton won 2 Gold Gloves as a Cardinal before leaving for Atlanta via free agency after the 1990 season. In 1991, he won the batting title with the Braves en route to an MVP award. A year later he would have even better numbers and finished runner up for MVP while winning his third Gold Glove.
