You cant download apps but u can download pics Video movies ebooks screen savers , it has sooo many uses its not funny , I used it to store all my CDs on so I could just take this in an out of my car car instead of a case full of CDs lol . It's in new shape and it comes with all the the original pieces USB cable ear buds instructions and I'm putting in a cute little bag it's a lace type gift bag very cute this is the perfect Christmas present for little one in your family that isn't quite ready for an expensive iPod :) and this is much Easier to use :) I have also used it while cleaning around the house and working in the yard and jogging and more things I don't remember lol it's very handy to have :)
