The necklace does not have a clasp. It just slides over any head that is size 7 1/4 or smaller (it will fit over a 7 1/2 if you are bald, or have short hair)
This "monkey fist" knot is considered to be one of the strongest knots ever. They are primarily used in rigging to guide ropes and lines to a point where it catches in a crook and holds the line to whatever it was thrown to.
However in the last few years they have become a cool little novelty for necklaces and key rings and even as a self defense weapon. Although this one would not do any damage, it hurts a lot. I tried this on the side of my head (Not recommended) and the pain was brief, but blinding.lol
This one has a marble in the center of it..
