IS A GREAT LAPTOP
IT JUST WILL NOT TURN ON NOW

I was told its might be the battery
and it would cost me $60.00
just to check for sure
and more if thats not it

Folks, she's listed this before. I asked her to test it with just the power cord and without the battery. She told me that it still wouldn't turn on. Seller, please correct me if I am wrong.

I know it's a relist which is no problem. I just wanted to make sure that you said that without the battery the computer would not work, even with the power cord plugged in. I didn't want to state an inaccurate comment.

I am in no way trying to bash this laptop or the person who bought it, Just an expert opinion. So lets be honest here..don't you think if someone were to bid so much on a laptop, they would want it to at least power up..
I'm a Licensed computer repair tech...sorry about your luck and lets face it, we all make mistake's. Even tho i'm guessing at what is wrong with it. without looking at it and just hearing what your saying and i'm probably right..this thing is fried. To me it sounds like a Power surge ,Resistors blown, Needs a new motherboard and probably other things. If it is..it will never work, even with a power supply or battery hooked to it.
Hope this helps..and like i said, i'm in no way trying to bash this auction ,but it's just not something i see everyday.

h i need that charger i repair older laptops an sell for a bill a pcs and i need chargers bad alota them dont come with chargers and sweetie u can get a bett. for 10.00 :) just shopp around online ,if i was working good b4 ,it just didnt come on at all one day ,no lights ,no poping sound nothing? if i knew anything about what happen when it suddenly stoped i might be able to give a good clue as to why it stopeed without seeing it my self ? do you remeber anything it could be a very cheap fix and u could keep it :)

did you by chance check the motherboard? my gateway stoped turning on vea anything the problem was that the motherboard was borken and soddered but the sodder melted and messed up. might be the reason it doesnt work.
