The listing, Vintage or Antique? Large Filigreed Falling Leaves Brooch has ended.
I do not know if this item is an actual Antique with the tuck under C clasp or if it is just a cheaper clasp. What I do know is that I have never seen anything made like this before. Bear with me here as this gets a bit complicated~ The brooch piece is shaped like a upside down fan with jump rings holding the first tier of 4 falling leaves . On the Left and Right leaves of that first tier are more jump rings attaching a chain that is round like a bracelet only it then joins another bracelet like chain- in order to hold the 3 tiers. This makes it very dimensional and moveable like old trembler brooches but without springs.
Each leaf holds decorative little flower blossoms.
I think the top fan portion probably held a floral blossom and that is missing but with no damage (you could drop in a channel set rhinestone as it has the rim)
The total length of this measures nearly 5" Yes really!
What makes it so especially wonderful though is that it is very flowing and free falling because of the chains and it makes a very gentle tinkling sound as they shimmer.
It is Very, Very Pretty with only the most minimal patina (pretty close to none) but it verifies its is vintage at least and qyite possibly an antique.
My personal guess ( not an expert) is mid 1940's Post World War II but it could certainly be earlier. It is an absolutely marvelous and I dare say unusual piece~
Not signed -No marks~ No Disappointment!
