The listing, Vintage Sewing Bobbin Case 1940/ 1950 has ended.
I know this looks like a cake carrier...but surprise, surprise, it is a bobbin case. Included are 50 bobbins. I tried an old small wooden spool of thread and it fit into the holes. Height is 6 1/4" and 12 " in diameter. There is printing on the inside of the case that reads ' Tri-Chem Inc. Harrison, NJ 07029 Made in U.S.A." I will ship the least expensive method. Shipping charges paid thru PayPal.
It would make a really cool bobbin case, but I think it originally held Tri-Chem liquid embroidery tubes. Seems like I remember seeing a similar one with a lot of the old tubes in it. They were really popular back in the 1950's or 60's, maybe into the early 70's. Never thought about using it for holding bobbins, that's a GREAT idea, and it's so pretty!
Oh my goodness....not a cake carrier and not a bobbin case...LOL.....It was given to me as a bobbin case so that is what I assumed that it was. The bobbins fit perfectly.......I love the embossed roses. Thanks for the information.
