Just a quick comment about gold and current pricing. Solid refers to the construction of the piece. Solid versus hollow. 14k refers to the amount of pure gold versus alloy in the piece. 14k gold is 58.5% gold. 14 parts gold 10 parts alloy. Pure gold is 24k or 24 parts gold. There are pieces of jewelry with pure gold on them, but usually 22k is the highest for wearing as it is soft in its purer forms. At 2.5g at todays gold market the gold value is approx. $80. As a finished piece of jewelery this would retail at approx. $300. The style is called a rope chain. Very lovely piece, rope chains never go out of style. Good value on this auction. F&╍●‿●╍ Watching, very nice! Can I put my 2cents in? Hate 2 butヅ in on your auction but members seem confused about your title. Gold can be called Solid @ 10k and up. The mixture of metal & alloy with 10k gold, 14k gold etc. makes the gold 'Solid' and good for every day wear. Pure 24k gold(no metal added) is too soft and not practical for wearing. Gold filled/ Gold plated are the same category- it is a "Layer" of gold on the metal- 1 thicker than the other.

RochelleWestwood is correct in the value. I just sold a broken bracelet just like this only 10K and 2 pair of 10K broken earrings to a jeweler today. Total weight of the gold was just under 4g and I got $110.45

What is the deal with commenting on Gold, I understand a question about the item being auctioned, but too many people et their ugly sceptical sides come out when someone is trying to give away something of worth to buy something else she needs more for her family. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. This Seller has been gracious beyond words, the snide comments and insinuations of dishonesty are very hurtful to a good psyche. Stop bullying people because you want their stuff for cheap, this is not Wall Street, yes, there are some scammers, that is why we have feedback. READ THE FEEDBACK!!!I personally want to commend this seller for her incredible patience and kindness, I would havehad a stroke by page two of the comments, some are very nice, but the ones accusing people of being "Scammers", just move on to the next auction and take your bitter miserable attitudes with you.

I sold one just like this for scrap and they gave me almost $300.00 for it
