It made my hair soft and more silky than hard. You use it after a wash when u blow dry or u can use it like a heat protector or "moisturizer" when flat ironing. And there is nothing racist about that question... :) Yes, i feel like it would do better on hair that is more fine that mine... white, hispanic, mixed girls... I just found something that held a little longer for me.
