Yes I am a smoker!, however I've only had this a few weeks & stored in a closet. So not sure if it has transferred smell, since I am sorta speak ' immune ' to the smell. :-)

Hi,I am actually right around that size & it was a bit too snug for me.( My waist ) , so I go by wait measurements. I like comfort, so like I stated I stretched what I would think would be accomadated for most which is about 36".I hope this helps& thanks for asking, :-)
