Description

The listing, gold tennis bracelet has ended.

Here's a nice tennis bracelet. I'm not 100% sure if this is real gold or costume jewelry, however there seems to be a very small marking on the clasp; I can't quite read it, but my girlfriend thinks it looks like it says "10K", so that would indicate it includes real gold, though again, I can't confidently say either way. Our kitchen scale weighs it at 0.25 ounces. It belonged to my girlfriend's grandmother. It's a lovely piece and in great condition. With the holidays approaching, would make a great Christmas gift idea, or just spice up your own wardrobe with something new.

Free shipping. I always send quickly, usually within 24 hours of receiving winner's address via Listia. Thanks!

Real gold Tastes sweet to the tongue and real gold does not stick to a magnet.
FWI Silver is sweet but not as much. Base metals taste of acid - bitter. Only Quality including platnum will please the tongue. They do not respond to magnets, but are very useful in electronics for transmutting electricity..

Not a bad suggestion, but I don't know of a jeweler near me and I likely won't have a lot of time to spend on it. The reason I'm offering it on Listia is so I don't have to hassle with it much.

hi, is there anyway of you getting it tested at a pawn or jewelry shop?

Original
Sorry, I'm offering it on Listia instead of taking it to a jeweler or pawn shop.

Magnet
Nov 26th, 2012 at 8:41:08 PM PST by
Original
Thanks for the suggestion. I just tested it against a couple strong magnets and neither appeared to stick at all, so that's probably a good sign it's not fake. :) It only sort of pulled at the clasp faintly, but from Googling, I learned that "clasps such as lobster claw, spring ring any clasp with a spring will stick to a magnet because clasps have metal wire which forms into a spring that allows the clasp to work." I've learned a lot about this stuff thanks to posting this auction! haha

No, Certified Mail may or may not be delivered to one's door. Sometimes the recipient receives a notice to pick it up at the PO. Sometimes not. Nevertheless, tracking will serve the purpose of making sure both the seller and the buyer are protected. Buying both isn't necessary. To buy both would be redundant. Would you be willing to just buy tracking? It's much cheaper than Certified (which costs around $5 for a light item).
Nov 26th, 2012 at 7:33:35 PM PST by
Original
Sure. I was just planning to choose the $2.95 option (Certified MailĀ® / Confirmation of Delivery).
Nov 26th, 2012 at 7:41:15 PM PST by
Original
Must you send it certified? I am disabled and have trouble picking up stuff at the PO. Would you consider just adding tracking?
Nov 26th, 2012 at 6:23:57 PM PST by
Original
I thought certified just meant that the post office keeps track of it (when it was delivered, etc).. I don't think it means you need to pick it up from them. From the USPS website, "The certified mail receipt provides the sender with a mailing receipt and, upon request electronic verification that an article was delivered or that a delivery attempt was made."
