Description
The listing, 1900s Trolley UNITED TRACTION COMPANY FARE TOKEN Street Car Railway railroad has ended.
Offered is an unusual very nice dime sized white metal UNITED TRACTION COMPANY transit token or coin that appears to have been from Albany New York, NY. Apparently the last car operated in 1946.
An interesting logo.
Reverse shows embossed GOOD FOR ONE FARE
My brief research indicates that this railway street railroad token is listed as 10A in a collector index or resource, the Atwood catalog.
I acquired this token with political items and since I do not collect fare tokens and in the spirit of sharing on Listia I am offering to other collectors or those interested in street car trollies or railroads.
Thank you! Wish I could indicate the approximate year of this fare token, however, at least appears to be 1946 or earlier since operation of this street rail system ceased in Albany, New York in 1946.
Very kind. Thanks for sharing! Since I collect political items and can't collect everything historical, it is great to be able to have this forum to trade items. The value is that others may be interested in preserving this piece of history.
Thanks for you interest. I will send a message if I list any other tokens. I collect political items so unless they are related, if I find tokens I may list here.
