im not really sure I bought it used but its in great condition it says IPod on the front but when I tried to put music through iTunes it didn't work it only worked with mp3 files

I know it can be hooked up to a laptop but cant it also be hooked up to the PS3 my mp3 player did it was a 4gb but then it started wacking out and flashing. I have to keep it hooked to the laptop or PS3 to work.
