Questions & Comments
"CRACKS" in Opals are what is known as an "OCCLUSION", that is why it has been there tsince it was made. It is the way a gem cutter cuts around the occlusions to release the light. I have many Opals and the unmounted apear to have cracks, that is THE NATURE OF OPAL!!! Please look up occlusions in the Dictionary, it will explain what seem like "Cracks" to the people who don't understand the nature of Opals and that it is in the occlusions(cracks) where all the light is, occlusions are what radiate, no cracks, no color, just a white pebble.
Thank you, it is gorgeous, that will prevent anybody from disputing it saying there is a Crack!! Thank you, counting my credits, I think that Opals look like that because the occlusions, which is where the light is, is like a crack in the Opal, I have several unmounted Opals and peole think they are cracked but I explain those are occlusions, and if you cut around them properly, you will release stunning light. Thank you!!
OMG, I screwed up!!! I thought I hadbudgetted and am 48 credits short, shoot!!! Next comes..."should i buy some credits?"...NO...I am poor, I might have to et go and it is hard when you are a Listia Holic, as I am, I am already attached to this ring. I must ask about the occluson, (crack), is it all the way through the stone, or does it stop in the middle of the stone? My question is really, if you took the stone out of the mounting, do you think it would come out in two parts? Is the crack a crack or occlusion? Occlusions usually don't go all the way across, for safety's sake. Thank you, Michelle
awww that's too bad. i was hoping you'd get it. better luck next time i guess. i'm not sure if it's a crack or an occlusion, i cant really tell if it goes all the way through
