The HD-3000 Hi Definition Television PCI Card is an universal PCI 2.2 compliant card. The card receives NTSC, ATSC and Cable/QAM Signals and converts them to digital streams which are transported across the PCI bus. Display and MPEG2 decoding are done on the host computer in software and displayed on the computers monitor. The pcHDTV Hi Definition PCI card is based on Oren Semiconductor's ATSC receiver chip and Conexant's CX23883 NTSC receiver chip providing excellent HD and SD reception.

Before anyone asks...

1. Does not work with Windows7.

3. Free shipping in the US. (I mail USPS First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation.)

4. Free shipping to Canada, but there will be no tracking. I will only save the receipt as proof of mailing. Expect to wait two weeks for it to clear customs.

I believe it comes with a disk. (I remember it was old when I got my cards in 2006.)

Anyway, drivers are part of the linux distribution as of 2.6.20.

There is pretty extensive help in the pcHDTV (pchdtv.com) wiki and forums. For a time, this was the video capture card for linux, so you can probably find help in lots of places on the web.

I have a Dell Inspiron with XP professional, will this card work properly with it?

The card is meant for Linux... anything else is a bit of a gamble. (I've spent quite a bit of time getting things working under Linux (mainly remote controls and sound cards...), so I won't say that is a slam-dunk, though things should be much, much better with Ubuntu and other modern distributions.)

If you have the model number (or better yet the service tag), I can check if the machine at least meets the minimum requirements. Beyond that... prepare to roll up your sleeves geek out.

Just want to interject the following points for WindowsXP users...

If you are running WindowsXP, you are probably better off getting a newer TV Tuner card, which will probably come with a remote and software. This is a "soft" card, which pushes processing onto your CPU - the newer cards have extra hardware which will lighten the load on your CPU.

Linux folks tend to be underserved by TV Tuner card manufacturers, so a well supported card is a bit of a novelty... and this card is good for that.
