I purchased a large amount of items at an auction for a funeral home about 3 years ago.among them were several Casket coffin keys. there was a box which contained several some ornate and others for the "common people".
this is a well used coffin key/casket key about 5 and 3/4" in length. i am unsure how many coffins or caskets this was used to lock but it appears well used. made of metal it has a spinning end which allows for quick securing or unlocking of the casket. believe this to be from the 1960's or 70's. funeral home was closed for quite a few years before the auction took place. also including a advertising piece from the funeral home as well.
