The listing, STAMPED.999 FINE SILVER,TROYAN OUNCE,(32 GRAMS),"CHRISTMAS SILVER COMMEMORATIVE COIN ORNAMENT" has ended.
One of the very first items I auctioned on Listia was the twin to this coin. You can look it up in my early auctions,it brought 25,500, and I was totally shocked and happy.Well, now it IS Christmas Time so i should auction this now. For any disbelievers, please google ".999 FINE SILVER Christmas Commemorative Coin Ornament. This is definitely from the good old days when we could afford to hang pure silver ounces as ornaments on the tree!! 1998,not too long ago.
I had a million naysayers because my camera will not capture the fine writing on the back under the date, on one ribbon it reads ".999", the next ribbon reads "FINE", and the third ribbon reads "SILVER". The best pictures, though as you can see, i tried a million, are 4 and 5, I believe, the word "FINE is directly below the date. It is exactly a troyan Ounce, which is 32 grams, so you can figure it's exact worth. It says Holiday Greetings, 1998, with a snowman skiing downhill. The back is an open wreath, i assume to engrave, with 1998 again and the fine print on ribbons, ".999 FINE SILVER". It comes in a clear plastic coin holder with a Red "Frame", the coin itself is VERY THICK, like 2.5 mm, well, it is a Troyan ounce, so you know how big it is. My first customer was very happy and I am glad Christmas finally arrived to auction this Pure Silver "Ornament". If you google them, you will see the same on E-Bay, in the same Holder and red frame, varying prices, from $55 to $65 (that was from the Alaskan mint-exact). These were given to me by a very dear elderly friend of mine, every year she gave me one and then after two years she went to Assisted care and she got Alzheimers. I will never hang these and they are more sad for me than gleeful!! I hope this Coin brings the Christmas Spirit into somebodies home, Peace Love and Harmony!!! It certainly wold be great for a jeweler to have the highest grade silver in their pieces.
