The uniquely beautiful Tanzanite stone. This one is listed as being a .50ct minimum, Trillion cut. 5.5mm x 5.5mm.

I bought this from Jewelry TV in March of 2010, paid $39.99 for it (see photo of receipt- might have to save the photo to enlarge it to read it) with plans of making some piece of jewelry. I realized that design I was thinking of, would require a slightly larger stone.

But it's a beautiful stone, so it was just nice to have around in my collection. Since then, I have acquired a interest for the rough or natural state gemstone specimens and collecting.
