Sorry, I must not have hit reply before... the measurements are as follows:
Length: 17" ~ Width: 13" ~ depth, of bottom:6"
So, depending on the size of the shoes, etc. I would say it will hold those items easily. (I did carry sneakers in this before, sz 8, when I had to wear uncomfie shoes) I took the sneakers for later wear. Hope this helps, thanx for looking.

The bottom measures 10" across & 6" deep. the body of the bag is 15" long & 13" wide. I think you could probably use it for a gym bag. Unzipped, the top opens up to make a 12" x 14" gap. Thanx for looking!
