Description

The listing, Heirloom Tomato ✽ AMISH PASTE ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

A very productive heirloom from Wisconsin that produces up to 12 oz, deep-red oxheart-shaped, meaty fruit. (Probably one of the largest paste tomatoes.) Lots of sweet, tomatoey flavors from this nearly coreless meaty fruit. A great slicing and sauce tomato. Don't be surprised if there are many different sized shapes of fruit on a single plant. This is quite common. If we could choose only one red tomato to plant in our garden, this would be the one! Very disease resistant.

Days: 81
Size: Indeterminate
Color: Red
Season: Late-Season
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: sauce, slicing, salsa, canning

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I will need a phone number if sending International. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring of 2012. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
