Questions & Comments
Freddie, I saw your question about taking photos of small things ... here's my advice: Take the photo from far enough away that the camera can focus, then crop it in with simple photo editing software that you can download free--I use HP photosmart, but you can probably download software from many camera makers or other sources. Once you get the hang of whatever software you are using, it goes very quickly, you can also adjust the brightness, color tone if needed, and contrast to help make colors or details pop.
I like to use a white background for most of my photos (fabric or paper, but something that doesn't create any glare). Also, it works best if you do not use the flash, but a small desk lamp instead that you can adjust to get the best angle for light and shadow. I like to use daylight color bulbs, like the Reveal brand you can get in the supermarket (but there are other brands too, lots to choose from in Home Depot, Lowes, places like that). If you are using a fluorescent bulb, try putting your camera on its fluorescent setting to get truer colors.
