grantde I have a little newer model. but same weight class scale. in order to interface it with my pc, I needed to install the software. But you can use the scale independently and weigh your packages just by using the scale itself. Hope this helps

grantde I think you will find it has a digital readout on the very front of the unit . And it is powered by plugging it into your Pc via a usb cable
