Your lighter is not from 1953 it is from 1960. by the bottom of this zippo.

according to the markings on the bottom and the zippo identification date chart this zippo was made in 1959-1960..wanting really bad... my husband collects Zippos and would love to add this one to his collection...will bidding, bidding, bidding, bidding.... fanned and watching...
