Description

The listing, 1920-D Standing Liberty Quarter has ended.

1920-D Standing Liberty Quarter

You can see the zero on the date and they did not mint a 1930-D so this has to be a 1920-D in case you were wondering how I know it's date.

Other than the date being hard to read this coin is between 8 and 10 in grading. You can make your own decision of course but this is a rare coin.

Shipping is Free

All - if you are concerned about this not being a 1920-D quarter please go to ebay and compare the front and back to ones listed there. There is one that has nearly the exact same wear as mine and you will see the 0 on mine looks just like these. If you win this coin and disagree I will take it back.

Thanks, actually I didn't realize that this coin is as rare as it seems to be until I looked it up in the PCGS price guide. Then I had to look at photograde and see where I thought it graded. In person you can see the zero on the date much better than in the picture.

All, I unhid the messages from araiderfan because I know the coin is a 1920-D. If you have any doubts compare it to a coin on eBay. thanks.

There is no doubt that this is a 1920 D SLQ. The stars were added to the 1917 type 2 and remained on the coin until the end. There were no D mints in 1930, therefore this is indisputably a 1920 D. Sorry araiderfan, but you are incorrect. Everyone can bid with confidence on this coin and if you are a collector of this series of coins, you probably already know the history of this coin. I am a long time collector, about 45 years, That's my credentials.

patesposito have to agree that the quarter is a 1920D, don't think araiderfan knows much about coins or what he is talking about.

I appreciate all of the comments confirming that this is a real 1920-D. Araiderfan is a friend of mine and he does know coins, he just made a mistake. I wanted araiderfan to know that I don't agree with the second part of Larryherrington5's comment.

Definitely a 1920-D and I'll say that araiderfan didn't know much about 1920-D Standing Liberty Quarters. But maybe now he does. ; )
Just a little info for free (in the spirit of Listia): you can always tell from the wear pattern whether a coin is from 1916-1924 or from 1925-1930. Look at the photograde examples on PCGS: http://www.pcgs.com/Photograde/#/SLQe/Grades and http://www.pcgs.com/Photograde/#/SLQ/Grades

And check a discussion we had on identifying SLQs @ http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=76768

And join the community! Or CoinTalk!

And good luck on your sale. It's a nice coin. Probably worth upwards of $35 or so and is G4. My book has it at $48 and PCGS lists it at $55.
