The listing, Vintage D & M Whistle has ended.

Vintage Draper Maynard Sports Whistle In Nice Shape.

This vintage whistle has an engraving of a spotted hunting dog above either "D M" or "D & M" inside a diamond, above "SPORTING GOODS". It has a cork ball inside it . It is tarnished in a few spots. See photos.

The words Sporting Goods are hard to read without a magnifier..

Under D & M are the words Trade Mark.

Hi Jay!! It was my Dad's so maybe late 40's early 50's?? It's a lot bigger than the newer whistles. Maybe so it was easier to handle?? Hugs, and more hugs to you!!

P.S The Gentleman commenting >Drummer < auctions some wonderful antique pieces , he seems to know about these type things , with honesty & experience , i have been eyeing some of his items as i love antiques , with history behind them , like myself >smiles< , an antique with history hahaha
On the serous side , I wonder if this whistle was for hunting dogs ? along time ago , it looks awesome Nancy

Thanks Barb! I did plan on ending my auctions after Christmas not during the Holiday Rush. Little did I know that I would be shoveling a very long driveway for days to make sure I can make it to the post office when they end..lol.
