Description

The listing, Listia MOZINGO TURKEY is BACK SIGNED Iconic Art * WHAAAA ????? * FREE Ship WORLDWIDE has ended.

This is a drawing created by Josh and Lisa Mozingo last February. Originally it was a joke, included with a coin. Then the winner listed the drawing and it sold on its own for more than 1,000 credits, back when very few items went that high (in March, I think)!

I thought to myself ... gee, I should get out my crayons too ... but then I became the FOURTH lucky winner, and am hereby obligated to pass it along to yet another Listia diehard member!

This drawing is on an 8x11-inch piece of notebook paper. The back is signed by all of us who have had it. The jewelry is not included ... I added it to the photo to personalize it for MY listing!

The winner is STRONGLY encouraged to sign the back of this drawing and include it with a future listing. I did that originally, with some Pandora beads, but the winner didn't want the drawing (only the beads) so it's up for grabs again!

The Listia MODS have PROMISED NOT to end this listing again ... so lets make it really fun, comment on your most MEMORABLE or favorite Listia item -- or the auction you just thought was the best even if YOU didn't win it!

Here's where it all got started, but you have to read the comments to "get it"
http://www.listia.com/auction/204500
I can't find the link to the auction when the turkey drawing sold on its own--Josh or Tulare, please post the link in a comment if you it!

Here are the previous listings:
http://www.listia.com/auction/317945
http://www.listia.com/auction/490014 - this when I won it

FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE ... India, Turkey, Russian Federation ... yes I will ship it to YOUR corner of the globe, with adequate international postage and a typewritten label but I will NOT refund credits if you don't receive it outside of the US or Canada.

Good luck and let's all have FUN!

Was it freestuff who sold that ... do you remember who won it? Maybe we can rattle their cage a bit to list it again!

who's Josh and Lisa Mozingo? the starters of listia?
Aug 25th, 2010 at 10:31:28 PM PDT by
Original
LOL ... no, but they were probably some of the first users of the site! When I joined in late February or early March, Listia was pretty small and quiet. It's grown like crazy since then!

Actually Mozingo started on the site Feb, 11, 2010 (The creator of the turkey drawing). Listia has been up for a little over a year now.

You can learn more from this old listia blog http://blog.listia.com/?page=4.

Thanks so much FSFY! That's neat to be able to see the history. When I looked up Listia way back when I started, I saw some internet info on the funding, which was granted in June I think, so I was surprised when Listia has its birthday celebration in August, but I guess August was when the site actually launched. I can't remember exactly when I first got on Listia, but I think it was early March.

Glad to help. Wonder if someone will outbid me on the turkey. lol Ya they were funded in june and I think officially logged on in aug of 2009. Don't quote me on that. lol

Usually once the bidding gets relatively high (and what is relative for this, I really don't have a clue) the bidding slows down until the end. But I know at least one bidder who hasn't surfaced yet ... LOL ... three guesses.

I agree. Good auction Nancy, but I don't have the credits to bid. lol I spend mine too fast.

LOL ... you and me both! But we are probably two of the most dedicated shoppers on Listia ... we should get a prize, or maybe some credits ... !!!

so am i understanding this correctly, you bid on the drawing, win it, and then sign it and auction it off again? or is the seller including it with an item they are auctioning? sounds like a neat idea.
Aug 28th, 2010 at 11:10:56 AM PDT by
Original
Yup, you seem to understand perfectly! You can auction it with an item or without. I already included it with one auction, but the winner didn't want it, so this time I decided to list it alone to be SURE the winner wanted it! So, I think it's a fun thing to list on its own, otherwise it will go to someone who really only wanted whatever else was with it, and may not want to list it again (even though it seems to bring in a decent bid!).

This is insane. It's nice to know Listia members have a great feeling of fun.
I read another listing of a plain paper sack. It was already over 900 credits and people were commenting how much they wanted that sack. Here's to the craziness!
Aug 28th, 2010 at 3:00:07 PM PDT by
Original
I know, I saw the sack too! Really funny, can't remember but that might have been Mozingo too, but maybe it was freestuff ... I had my credits tied up that week so I'm not sure I even got in a bid, but it was really funny, loved it!

That was the one that had tea spilled on it, and after that it would run for maybe an hour and then shut down, but that was YEARS ago. I'm so glad you got it running! I can't believe it would, but maybe it has a wifi card in it??? I would think it's too danged old for that!
Aug 29th, 2010 at 1:17:03 PM PDT by

Yeah, it has bee awhile, but don't worry, I've bid on and won loads of other Irish coins LOL I am good.....i've been around...I'm fixing to be taking a break from listia for awhile...am double majoring at College and I only have two more semesters to go so I'll begiving it my FULL attention. I will be graduating in May next year. So, you take care......let me know if you come up with any more irish goodies!! God bless you and you take care...(I'll be watching this auction, if I come up with enough credits, I might come in and try to win this one too LOL)

Good luck in school! Those last semesters get more interesting, but also more busy as I recall from MANY years ago! My oldest daughter just started college last week, in Virginia. She seems to be having a great time!

Oh good Lord! Well, it's old information, that's for sure. Just destroy it please ...it must've been in the CD drive. I can't even remember if that computer had a burner on it, I would think not but who knows?

Ah the turkey is baaack! :) Will be watching and hopefully swooping in to do a tukey dance at the end! :) also Listia.com did start in Aug 2009. I joined 1 yr ago today 08/29/2009 and there was hardly anything good to bid on but it was fun to see new people on here! It's come a long long way in only 1 yr Nat...:)

It's come a LONG way since I joined in late Feb/early March. And it's really taken off in the last two months, which surprised me over the summer, when I kinda thought it would die a bit!

I don't know who flagged it. Folks get badges for flagging so I'm sure some people flag just about everything. I don't worry about it. It's up to a moderator to decide.

I KNEW the turkey had been auctioned on its own (not my imagination, and sometimes I wonder ...). Check out the second link. And I love the comments on that first auction, the turkey drawing idea was so silly but look where it's gone LOL!

We aren't missing any signatures ... are we???

BTW, do you get the beads in the picture if you win?
Aug 20th, 2010 at 7:12:58 PM PDT by

LOL, yup, I hope enough Listia members are back from vacation to create a little action! How are you? I just got back home from two months away, on Thursday. Feeling a little discombobulated.

Nancy,, there was never an auction where this was sold alone that I know of.
It was always a bonus sold with something else. Unless Josh did it and I didn't know about it.??
I think you have all the auction links listed.
Boy 2 months away sounds like fun, and tiring too :-)

We have a house there that we've had for 15 years, so it's sort of our home base, very relaxing to be there generally. We used to live in Virginia (just outside of Washington DC) but since we moved to Iowa it's been a lot harder to get to Maryland. So this time we drove two days each way so i could have my cats with me for the summer.

It was exciting this summer though because we are working on starting an addition and renovation so we can retire there in the next few years, and we are working on the permits, got a new septic system (required) and just got a lot done. My husband's job is up in the air so there is a chance we could move there next year, but only if he is unemployed. Not really sure what is in our future!

I haven't heard from him. I sent him an e-mail but he doesn't have any auctions listed, so maybe they are on vacation this week. Hopefully he'll see it by next weekend!

I'm here don't worry. I just was away for a little bit. I'm glad to see that this has been put back on. I think we should try and get it featured. I might mail some extra stuff to the winner if we can get it featured. I think I might bid on this again cause I have some interesting things to list with it. Or I might wait it out till its posted again.
Aug 22nd, 2010 at 3:20:18 PM PDT by
Original
I've asked for it to be featured, but Listia doesn't seem to do that right away any more. So, we'll just have to wait and see. I bought the Premium thing though ... sheesh, that's gotten expensive. Not sure I'll do that very often.

I love Listia, but don't know what the odds would be to continue to win this paper if it was not posted with the item. I have been thinking about adding to my auctions for winners, to show them how awesome free stuff can be.
Aug 20th, 2010 at 7:12:42 PM PDT by
Original
Y'know, I listed it before with a bunch of Pandora beads (see the links in the listing) but the winner didn't want it. Honestly, I didn't really want it either when I won the drawing with a gift card, but Josh insisted on sending it to me.

So, I listed it again, JUST the drawing, got a TON of bids (I think the bidding was over 2,000), and then a Listia moderator removed it. After I pestered them to death to tell me WHY the listing was removed (not enough information was the official reason) Listia has PROMISED me the listing will not be removed again.

It's just a fun thing, and a lot of people seem to get a kick out of it. You might want to place a low bid just to keep in on your bid list so you watch and see what happens. If you win it for under 100 credits and don't want it and want a refund, I can do that too. But I'm pretty sure you'll get a kick out of the bidding and comments on this listing!

That second link was my action after I got it from Mozingo, and he got it back.
I didn't think of it as being sold a;lone since i had a bunch of bonuses to go with it.
Although I didn't put a picture of anything but the turkey :-)
Aug 23rd, 2010 at 6:55:38 PM PDT by

Yup, Mozingo won it back from you, but he only signed it once. So, all of the owners have signed it as far as I can tell!
Aug 24th, 2010 at 7:00:24 AM PDT by

So actually on three people have had it, and there are three signatures on it, right?????
Me, 1 time, Mozimgo 2 times and you (Nancy) 1 time
Aug 23rd, 2010 at 6:57:12 PM PDT by

Yup, three signatures, yours, mine and Mozzy's.
