Description

The listing, NEVER offered before Native American Remedy has ended.

Here's a new one for Listia. I'm a wildcrafter in the backwoods of the Appalachian Mountains and spend most of the year hiking and camping gathering herbs with my friend. One of our favorite things to gather is the Jewelweed. Jewelweed is a plant the Native Americans use for the relief of itching and rashes from poison ivy, stinging nettle, poison sumac and oak, and a variety of rashes. It is also a good plant to relieve the pain from bites and stings from the various critters we encounter, and we encounter quiet a few. Some major soapmakers have discovered its uses and are now making soap using this plant. We have made it for many years, but by making it ourselves we are able to make a stronger version than most offer, plus our plant stock is freshly cured. We never hike, fish, camp, garden, without carrying a small bar with us in case we come into contact with ivy. I sometimes offer my soap on here and do very well with it.
I am offering some of our dried jewelweed so that you mite try your hand at making the soap. It is very easy to make, and I will include our recipe with the dried stock. You will have to purchase, at your local craft or hobby shop, one small bag of glycerin soap, less than ten bucks. I will send enough weed that you can make a couple batches of soap, a LOT of bars. Use them as stocking stuffers or sell them. We get several dollars a bar for our soap and sell the dried stock for 45 dollars a pound to some major soap makers. I like to promote this soap as most aren't aware of its uses. This auction is for one well stuffed bag of dried jewelweed, the soap is NOT included, plus our recipe. We sell to landscapers, utility workers, hunters, hikers, fishermen, gardeners etc. Here's a cheap way to make Christmas gifts for everyone on your list that they will LOVE you for. (They are also popular at craft shows and flea markets, You just don't see it too often cept here in the mountains) Once they use it, they will be back for more.

AHHH FINALLY getting some bids......someone's going to be a happy camper. By the way, the soap is VERY easy to make and almost foolproof. If bids get high enough, I'll even throw in a few jewelweed soap because next year, you'll want to make some more, you can grow your own...LETS GIT IT ON

I meant jewelweed seed, not soap, I repeat, seed , not soap. I do plan on making some more soap soon, just haven't been to the city to get the glycerin I need. I've been bombarded with orders for it.

Can you bath with the soap or simply apply to the affected area?

It is not a bath soap and should not be used around the eyes for sure. I do have a couple friends who were using it for a bath soap and bragged on it, lol, but is intended for rashes. Also, if you come into contact with ivy and wash with it, it helps to diffuse the poisons.

I wanted to list some of the testimonials I've recieved for this soap for everything from psoriasis and eczema to even a rash on a dog, lol. Everyone is different but i'd say its worth a try at least. I get a rash of some kind on my neck once in awhile and it is the only thing that dries it up. If you are highly allergic to plants, you should always test a little of the soap on your wrist and wait 24 hours. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with it though.

Glycerin soap can be bought at most any craft store like Michaels or hobby lobby, etc. Any major craft store would have it. I use glycerin cause I prefer no chemicals and it is very easy to do, very easy. You just melt the glycerin and add the jewelweed extract.
