****UPDATE****
Just out of curiosity i walked in to a pawn shop to see what the guy would say about my bill. i was looking around and noticed he had some old coins and a few older bills in his store. so i showed him this one, we talked a little bit about it and he looked at it with one of those eye glasses loupe lens that jewelers use.
He then told me that it wasn't worth anything.
I said "so it's fake"
He said "It could be" he really didn't know much about it.
I said "Oh, so it might be real then you just don't know right?"
He said" it could be he wasn't sure tho"
so i said " alright thanks anyway"
and i took my bill and was walking toward the door and he yelled .
Hey, If you want to get rid it i'll give you $20 for it.
I said "No, i'll just keep it"
he said "how about $30?"
Then something hit me..If he thought it was fake a few seconds ago ..Why is he trying to buy it now. and for $ 30 dollars.
anyway i took my bill and left.
Just wanted to let you know about this . Just in case someone tries pulling the same thing on you.

I actually have some confederate money 35 yrs ago the goverment passed a law that states the copied bill has to say facimile reproduction or copy printed on the bill anything older then that you d have to look at the signature on the bill if the ink is flat its fake if the ink has changed color alittle it s real the good copies are printed on aged paper the real ones sell for 20 to 50 dollars in this condition

Sj... People suck.. :( I'm sorry that you wont be putting any more currency on here.. The way i figure.. It's free.. does it MATTER if its fake? If you -as a bidder- are leery.. DON'T bid! If i had enough credits. I'd definitely bid! My dad collects old coins/bills & this would be an AWESOME addition to his collection!! Good luck! :)

It looks real to me..i have several and am very familiar with this specific note as i collect virginia notes as i am from va...two things you can look for...if the ink is a dry blood or brownish color...the ink from the period was high in iron and oxidized as the years passed...also..alot of the virginia notes have tiny fibers in the bill itself were old rags were tore apart and mixed with the paper as a measure to prevent counterfitting!!! Most of the ink should be slighty visable thru the back of the bill also....hope this helps you out...but this is a counterfeited note.. as most of the higher bills are...but this looks real and authentic!!! Good luck man...
